Your guide to

ethical leadership, doctoral mentorship, and decision making support for leaders and scholars.

About Dr. JESSICA SAULSBERRY

Dr. Jessica Saulsberry is a scholar-practitioner and leader focused on ethical decision-making, leadership growth and navigating complexity with clarity and integrity.

Leaders and scholars often face moments where decisions carry real weight- influencing teams, careers, and organizational outcomes. Through thoughtful frameworks, coaching and practical guidance, I work with leaders and scholars to apply evidence-informed approaches to decision making an help them move forward while staying aligned with their values and responsibilities. I blend doctoral research with real-world experience, reflection and action.

I explore how leaders thoughtfully, navigate change responsibly, and build environments where people can do meaningful work and thrive. My approach blends research, reflection and real-world application to support leaders in making decisions that are ethical and effective.

Ethical leadership is not a trend; it is a responsibility. The way we lead matters just as much as what we achieve. At the core of my work is a belief that leadership requires more than technical skill or efficiency, it requires judgment, reflection, authenticity, and intention decision making- especially in moments of transition, uncertainty and change.

My Core Beliefs:

  • Ethics and human-centered inquiry matter as much as outcomes

  • Research should inform, not overwhelm, practice

  • Leaders benefits from frameworks that deepen clarity, not complexity

  • Scholarship and practice can coexist in service of better decisions

professional background

Dr. Jessica Saulsberry bring extensive experience across complex organizational environments, where leadership decisions carry real operational, ethical and human impact. Her professional background includes leading and advising on initiatives involving organizational change, strategic decision making and leadership development within highly regulated and dynamic settings.

My doctoral research focuses on ethical considerations in organizational decision making, including bias, governance, and the role of human oversight in systems influenced by technology and automation.

What Guides My Work

My work is guided by a commitment to thoughtful, ethical decision making, particularly in moments where complexity, ambiguity, or competing priorities are present. Over time, I have learned that leadership is not simply about expertise or authority, it is about the impact our decisions have on people, systems, processes and long-term outcomes.

I use reflection and continuous learning to lead with courage and care. The courage to make difficult decisions and the care to consider how those decisions affect outcomes.

Above all, my work is shaped clarity, transparency and accountability. Whether supporting leaders or mentoring doctoral students, I am committed to creating space for reflection, honest dialogue, and growth. The work I do is grounded in the understanding that meaningful leadership is developed over time through consistent and intentional practice and a willingness to learn.

My Approach

I partner with leaders and scholars through a thoughtful approach that bridges insight and action. My work is grounded in listening deeply, asking the right questions and translating complexity into clarity. My approach is:

Clarity before action - I focus on helping leaders slow down their thinking long enough to clarify priorities, constraints, and tradeoffs before moving forward.

Thoughtful examination of assumptions - I encourage reflective questioning to surface underlying assumptions that often shape decisions without being fully examined.

Practical frameworks over prescriptive answers - Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I emphasize structured approaches that support sound judgment across different contexts.

Decisions grounded in context and sustainability - The aim is to support choices that are realistic, aligned and sustainable over-time; not just effective in the moment.
